Miami-Dade Procurement Expo 2026: Vendor Documents, Transit and Questions to Bring

Updated:

By SoFlo Times Staff

Miami-Dade’s Procurement Expo is most useful if you arrive with a specific account problem, contracting goal and list of questions. The county has scheduled four hours for registration help, bid guidance, certification, prequalification and capital access. This guide turns those subjects into a working plan for Aug. 14.

Miami-Dade Procurement Expo 2026: Time, Location and RSVP Details

The free event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, at the Miami-Dade Main Library, 101 W. Flagler Street in downtown Miami. Register through the county’s RSVP form before traveling.

The county’s announcement says representatives will include county departments, municipalities, colleges and nonprofit organizations, but it does not identify individual exhibitors. Build a flexible route rather than depending on one agency being present. Strategic Procurement can answer event questions at 305-375-5773.

Local fact: Miami-Dade County’s free 7th Annual Procurement Expo runs four hours, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, 2026, at the Main Library, 101 W. Flagler Street. Miami-Dade Strategic Procurement announced the date, venue and registration link on July 22, 2026.

Documents and Account Information to Prepare Before August 14

Start by testing your Vendor Portal login. Confirm that the legal business name, address, primary contact and tax identification information match the documents you plan to use.

Prepare digital copies of:

The county’s portal generates Final Summary pages during the application process. Those pages must be notarized and uploaded before approval, so ask where that step appears in your account rather than arriving with a homemade substitute.

Miami-Dade’s June 2026 Vendor Registration Boot Camp instructed participants to bring a laptop and documents on a flash drive. The Procurement Expo notice does not repeat that instruction. A charged laptop may still help, but keep tax documents in a secured folder or encrypted drive—not loose in an email inbox.

Vendor-file fact: Miami-Dade County says registration is free and requires one valid email address. Its Vendor Registration page, accessed Aug. 3, 2026, lists a current county Local Tax Receipt for locally based firms, incorporation papers if applicable, a W-9 or applicable IRS form, FEIN verification and notarized Final Summary pages.

Which Procurement Representatives Your Business Should Prioritize

Use this order, adjusting it to your firm’s status:

  1. Vendor registration: Start here if your application is incomplete, your company changed its name or address, or you cannot access the portal. Leave knowing the exact missing item and which office must receive it.

  2. Small Business Enterprise certification: Prioritize this table if the firm has a physical Miami-Dade location and wants to explore SBE-Goods and Services, SBE-Construction or SBE-Architectural and Engineering certification. Registration and certification are separate processes.

  3. A buyer or department aligned with your work: Give a precise capability statement—“commercial HVAC maintenance in occupied buildings,” for example—instead of saying the company can do anything. Ask which commodity codes and solicitation channels cover that work.

  4. Prequalification or capital assistance: Construction, architecture, engineering, surveying and specialized vendors should clarify whether they need a pool qualification or professional certification. Businesses concerned about bonding, insurance, payroll or mobilization costs should then visit capital-access representatives.

Questions to Bring About Registration, Certification, Bids and Capital

Write your questions in advance and record the answer, representative’s office and next step.

For registration:

For certification and bids:

For capital:

Do not leave with only “check the website.” Ask for the page name, system name or office responsible for the next action.

Getting to the Main Library by Metrorail, Metromover, Bus or Car

Government Center Station is at 101 NW First Street, directly beside the Government Center complex and across the plaza from the library.

Metrorail riders should exit at Government Center. A one-way Metrorail or regular Metrobus fare is $2.25 as of August 2026, while Metromover is free. Government Center also serves downtown bus routes, but check the GO Miami-Dade Transit app on Aug. 14 for delays or detours.

Drivers can use the Miami-Dade Cultural Center garage at 50 NW Second Avenue. The county lists rates of $3 per half-hour up to 2½ hours and $15 for 2½ to 12 hours, as accessed Aug. 3. A 9:30 a.m. arrival and 2:30 p.m. departure totals five hours, placing the visit in the posted $15 bracket. Confirm the rate and any validation before entering.

Arrival fact: Government Center Station, 101 NW First Street, connects two rail systems—Metrorail and Metromover—plus 21 named Metrobus route variants. Miami-Dade Transit’s station page, accessed Aug. 3, 2026, places the Main Library among nearby destinations; the county lists the 623-space Cultural Center garage at 50 NW Second Avenue.

What to Do During the Expo and the Next Business Day

SoFlo Times’ suggested first circuit takes 90 minutes: 10 minutes for check-in, 20 for registration, 20 for certification, 20 with a relevant buyer and 20 for bids, prequalification or capital. Against the four-hour event window, that leaves 150 minutes for follow-up conversations and unresolved portal work.

At every stop, capture four items: the representative’s office, the required action, the official link or system, and the deadline. Photograph or scan handouts so they do not disappear into a stack of brochures.

On Monday, Aug. 17, complete the smallest action that moves the account forward: upload the missing document, correct a commodity code, begin a certification checklist or save a solicitation search. Use official portals for tax and identity records; Miami-Dade notes that email addresses sent to the county may become public records.

This guide is current as of Aug. 3, 2026. The event ends at 2 p.m. Aug. 14, so confirm RSVP and transportation information before leaving. Subscribe to the SoFlo Times newsletter for practical South Florida event, business and seasonal guides.
