South Florida Adventure Pass vs. BAMM: Is a Pass Worth Buying Before September 30, 2026?

Updated:

Two adults planning two September visits to Flamingo Gardens would spend $48 in BAMM base admission versus $120 for two South Florida Adventure Passes. Five visits reach the $120 break-even point before applicable taxes. Buying the pass now therefore depends on your remaining calendar—not how much it could have saved since May.

According to Zoo Miami, checked September 13, 2026, South Florida Adventure Pass admission runs through September 30, 2026. Prices are $60 plus tax for ages 13+ and $50 plus tax for ages 3–12. Two adults pay $120 plus tax, regardless of how few September visits remain. Source: Zoo Miami.

Compare the same visits, with September discounts

Adventure Pass provides unlimited admission to five attractions: Butterfly World, Flamingo Gardens, Museum of Discovery and Science, Sawgrass Recreation Park and Zoo Miami. The first four also participate in September’s Broward Attractions and Museums Month, or BAMM; Zoo Miami does not appear on the BAMM roster. Sources: Adventure Pass announcement, 2026 BAMM roster.

BAMM is a promotion redeemed at participating venues, not another pass to buy.

Write down the people attending each outing and the dates you genuinely expect to go. Add their BAMM admission costs, plus any separately purchased Zoo Miami tickets. Compare that total with the passes those same people would need.

Only count visits through September 30. As of September 13, the remaining full weekends are September 19–20 and September 26–27. Four available weekend days do not automatically mean four outings.

Flamingo Gardens: five visits to tie for two adults

Flamingo Gardens charges $24 for ages 12+, $17 for ages 3–11 and nothing for children 2 and younger. Its BAMM offer makes an equal-or-lower-priced second ticket free; mention BAMM at the ticket booth. Online purchases and combining discounts are excluded. Sources: admission prices, BAMM rules.

For two adults, each visit costs $24 under BAMM:

Visits before September 30BAMM base totalTwo Adventure PassesLower-cost choice
2$48$120BAMM by $72
4$96$120BAMM by $24
5$120$120Tie before tax
6$144$120Adventure Pass by $24

The calculation is $120 ÷ $24 = five visits. The sixth produces admission savings. A couple planning one visit on each remaining full weekend should use BAMM for this itinerary.

Children’s ages and ticket pairing change the answer

These Flamingo Gardens calculations apply the published equal-or-lower-value rule, with the same household attending every visit:

HouseholdBAMM per visitAdventure Pass totalFirst visit count when passes cost less
One adult + child age 8$24$1105
Two adults + children ages 6 and 10$41$2206
Two adults + children ages 10 and 12$48$2205

For the family with children ages 6 and 10, pair the adults together and the children together: $24 + $17 = $41. Paying for two adults and taking two free children would instead cost $48.

A 12-year-old costs $24 at Flamingo Gardens but still qualifies for a $50 child Adventure Pass. In the final row, three people have $24 admission and one has $17 admission; the two paid tickets total $48.

MODS requires an adult purchase

At the Museum of Discovery and Science, 401 SW Second Street in Fort Lauderdale, September 2026 BAMM admission requires purchasing one regular adult ticket to receive one free adult or child ticket. Mention BAMM at the box office; other offers cannot be combined. Checked September 13, 2026. Source: MODS.

MODS lists regular admission at $29.50 per adult and $24 for children ages 1–12. Consequently, BAMM costs $29.50 for two adults or one adult with an 8-year-old, and $59 for two adults with children ages 6 and 10. The child-to-child pairing used at Flamingo Gardens does not qualify here. Sources: MODS prices, promotion terms.

Compare equivalent experiences: MODS’s regular Discovery Pass includes a HoloTheater experience and an IMAX documentary. Confirm those inclusions under each promotion before assigning them savings; the Adventure Pass listing promises admission without detailing both extras.

Zoo Miami can move the break-even point

Zoo Miami’s regular admission is $25.95 for ages 13+ and $21.95 for ages 3–12. Children 2 and younger enter free. Source: Zoo Miami tickets.

Consider two Flamingo Gardens visits plus two Zoo Miami visits before September 30:

HouseholdBAMM gardens + regular zoo ticketsAdventure PassesPass savings before tax
Two adults$48 + $103.80 = $151.80$120$31.80
One adult + child age 8$48 + $95.80 = $143.80$110$33.80
Two adults + children ages 6 and 10$82 + $191.60 = $273.60$220$53.60

Those are admission savings for four intended outings. Remove one zoo visit and all three households would spend less buying admission separately. Substitute any zoo discount you qualify for before deciding.

Existing memberships matter twice. Eligible members can buy discounted Adventure Passes for $50 per adult and $40 per child; Zoo Miami specifies that the underlying membership must remain active through September 30. But visits already covered by membership belong in your comparison at $0 additional admission, not their retail value. Source: member pricing and eligibility.

Put the remaining weekends on a map

Flamingo Gardens is at 3750 S. Flamingo Road in Davie, with free parking and last entry at 4 p.m. Zoo Miami is at 12400 SW 152nd Street, with free parking. Treat the zoo as a separate outing when budgeting time and fuel. Sources: Flamingo Gardens, visitor information, Zoo Miami.

For Coconut Creek, enter Tradewinds Park on the south side of Sample Road for Butterfly World, 3600 W. Sample Road. Its posted weekend park gate fee is $3 per vehicle with eight or fewer occupants. Source: Butterfly World planning information.

Butterfly World’s September 2026 BAMM offer provides a second admission of equal or lower value free with a purchased admission. Redeem it in person by mentioning BAMM or showing the offer screenshot. Online redemption and combining discounts are excluded. The offer ends September 30, 2026; checked September 13. Source: Butterfly World.

Butterfly World opens at 11 a.m. Sundays; MODS opens at noon Sundays. Downtown MODS parking is separately charged, with variable rates. Sawgrass Recreation Park’s BAMM listing requires an online reservation—secure that before counting the outing. Before buying

Pick up Adventure Passes where you purchased them, and bring each adult’s photo ID on every visit. Passes are nontransferable and nonrefundable, exclude select special events, and offer no extensions for attraction closures. They expire September 30, including passes purchased late in the month. Source: Adventure Pass conditions.

Add taxes, parking, food and optional activities separately. Buy only if your realistic remaining itinerary beats the applicable admission alternatives; a visit added solely to justify the purchase still takes time and travel money.
